CHARLOTTESVILLE – The Virginia men’s tennis team’s incoming class was rated the No. 1 class of 2012 by TennisRecruiting.net as the site announced its final rankings. Although annually ranked in the top five by the site, this year marks the first time Virginia has had the No. 1 ranked class.

The class consists of five players who signed last fall. Blue chip American recruits Harrison Richmond (Pawleys Island, S.C.), Ryan Shane (Falls Church, Va.) and Mac Styslinger (Birmingham, Ala.) are joined by five-star recruit Mitchell Polnet (Southampton, Pa.) and international standout Jonathan Cornish (Essex, England).

The five players will join eight players, including five starters, who return from the 2012 Cavalier team that was the NCAA Runner-Up.
