WASHINGTON – For the first time in history, Virginia alumni will face each other on the ATP World Tour during the doubles semifinals of the Citi Open in Washington. Treat Huey (Class of 2008) and Dom Inglot (Class of 2009) will play Drew Courtney (Class of 2012) and his partner, 2011 and 2012 NCAA Singles Champion Steve Johnson of USC.

The doubles semifinals of the ATP 500 event will be Saturday at the FitzGerald Tennis Center in Rock Creek Park.

Huey and Inglot, currently ranked No. 32 in the ATP Doubles Team Rankings, downed No. 2 seed Aisam-Ul-Haq Quereshi and Robert Farah, a 2010 USC graduate, 6-2, 6-2 in the quarterfinals on Thursday. Their semifinal appearance is their third ATP Tour semifinal this year.

Courtney and Johnson received a wild card entry into the Citi Open and scored a 7-6(6), 6-4 quarterfinal win over Jamie Delgado and Ken Skupski, a former player at LSU, in the quarterfinals on Thursday. The duo’s two wins in the tournament are Courtney’s first two career ATP Tour victories.
