Charlottesville, Va. – VirginiaSports.com, the official website of Virginia Athletics, has unveiled a new design. CBSSports.com College Network is the host the redesigned site.

“Our primary goal for the site re-design was to improve the online experience for our fans,” Virginia Associate Athletics Director for Marketing and Video Services Todd Goodale said. “The introduction of free online audio and a mobile-enabled site, CBSSports.com College Network’s Gametracker live stats program, and improved navigation throughout the site are examples of how our fans will benefit from this new partnership.”

The new VirginiaSports.com features a header navigation structure that includes easy-to-find links for the Cavaliers’ teams and coaches, athletics department information, the ticket office and the popular VirginiaSportsTV.com website. The secondary header navigation structure features links for the latest news, features and articles by Cavalier News Beat writer Jeff White, game day information and the Cavalier Team Shop.

The Cavaliers Live tab in the secondary header is the place for fans to follow live game action, including the Gametracker live stats platform, live audio and video, and television listings.

Fans will now have the opportunity to listen free of charge to all football, men’s basketball and women’s basketball game broadcasts in addition to the weekly Coach’s Corner program through Cavaliers Live. Live audio of Virginia baseball and lacrosse games broadcast by WINA AM 1070 in Charlottesville as well as live video webcasts can be accessed through a Cavaliers Live subscription.

Other new features include an easy-to-find calendar with multiple options and an expanded photo gallery. The site glossary near the bottom of the page provides quick access to specific pages throughout the site.

The “sticky footer” at the bottom of the site is always visible and includes a scoreboard and links to Facebook, Twitter, the Photo Store, live auctions, and the online ticket office.

The focus on easy navigation also is included in the individual sports pages as fans can find links to the latest news, coaches, team, facilities, history and schedules. The In-Depth+ tab feature on each sport page features a drop-down menu for additional information for that sport.

By clicking on the “Virginia Cavaliers” / V-Sabre area at the top of the site, a user will always return to the home page.

VirginiaSports.com is also now optimized for mobile use.
