2012-13 Schedule

CHARLOTTESVILLE – Game times and television designations for Virginia’s home non-conference 2012-13 basketball games have been announced by the Atlantic Coast Conference.

The Cavaliers’ first home games are part of the NIT Season Tip-Off on Nov. 12 and 13 and will begin at 7 p.m. and air on ESPN3. Virginia opens the NIT Season Tip-Off against Fairfield and will play either Delaware or Penn on Nov. 13.

UVa’s three-game homestand concludes against Seattle on Nov. 17 at 4 p.m. in a game that will also air on ESPN3.

Virginia returns home to host Green Bay on Dec. 1. The ACC’s Regional Sports Networks (Comcast SportsNet in Virginia) will air this contest that will tip at 4 p.m.

The Cavaliers’ home games against Tennessee on Dec. 5 (7 p.m.), Mississippi Valley State on Dec. 8 (4 p.m.) and Morgan State on Dec. 19 (7 p.m.) will air on ESPN3.

The final home non-conference game of the season against Wofford on Dec. 30 will start at 1 p.m. and air on the ACC’s Regional Sports Networks.

Game times for two of Virginia’s non-conference away games – the season-opener at George Mason on Nov. 9 and versus Old Dominion in the inaugural Governor’s Holiday Hoops Classic on Dec. 22 at the Richmond Coliseum – have not yet been announced.

Season tickets for the 2012-13 Virginia men’s basketball season are currently on sale.Two five-game mini-packages and a three-game Tip-Off package will be on sale starting Oct. 1. Fans may purchase mini-packages in advance of the public at a Select-a-Seat event at John Paul Jones Arena on Saturday, Sept. 29 from 1-3 p.m.

All courtside seats and lower level seats in UVa’s John Paul Jones Arena must be purchased as part of a season ticket. Season tickets in the lower level cost $435 and require an annual contribution to the Virginia Athletics Foundation (VAF) and a gift to the John Paul Jones Arena project.

There are four upper level season ticket price options: $165, $215, $340 and $435. UVa faculty and staff may purchase up to four season tickets at a 20 percent discount. Virginia alumni who graduated between 2008-12 may purchase a season ticket in the upper level for $132. An annual contribution to VAF and a gift to the John Paul Jones Arena project may be required for some upper level seat locations.

Men’s basketball season ticket holders are eligible to take advantage of a host of benefits, including participation in a rewards program, the opportunity to purchase reserved parking and single-game tickets in advance of the public, and the opportunity to transfer or return tickets electronically. Season ticket holders will also be invited to preseason events with the team at John Paul Jones Arena.

The Virginia-Old Dominion game in the Governor’s Holiday Hoops Classic game is part of a doubleheader that also includes George Mason playing Richmond. Requests are now being taken from current men’s basketball season ticket holders and Virginia Athletics Foundation donors for tickets to the Governor’s Holiday Hoops Classic. Tickets to this event are valid for both match-ups and will be available to the public if ticket inventory remains beginning Oct. 29.

Fans can purchase tickets online at VirginiaSports.com and in-person at the Virginia Athletics Ticket Office in Bryant Hall at Scott Stadium weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets can also be purchased by calling 1-800-542-UVA1 (8821).
