CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The No. 7 Virginia field hockey team (10-2) closes out the weekend, hosting Saint Joseph’s (2-8) Sunday, Sept. 30 at 1 p.m. at Turf Field. Admission is free.

Virginia come into the game having won its last five games, the longest win streak of the season for the Cavaliers. On Friday, the Cavaliers upset No. 4 Maryland, 3-2, the third ranked opponent Virginia has defeated during the current win streak. It was also the second time this season the Cavaliers defeated an opponent ranked in the top-five.

The Cavaliers are 5-0 this season against teams not ranked in the top-25, outscoring unranked opponents 32-5 this season. The Cavaliers are also a perfect 5-0 at Turf Field this year.

Saint Joseph’s comes into the game averaging 1.10 goals per game, with 11 total goals in their ten contests. The Cavaliers are one of the top-five teams in the nation in scoring, averaging 4.25 goals-per-game. Saint Joseph’s has earned 89 penalty corners this season, 20 more than their opponents. The Cavaliers have had 79 penalty corners, with their opponents drawing 63.

The Cavaliers will play all but two of the remaining 2012 regular season games at home. They will be back at Turf Field next weekend, hosting Yale on Saturday, Oct. 6 at 12 p.m. and No. 15 New Hampshire on Sunday, Oct.7 at 1 p.m.
