charlottesville, Va. – The 24th-ranked Virginia women’s golf team will play its final fall tournament of the season this weekend at the Tar Heel Invitational in Chapel Hill, N.C. The three-day tournament will run Friday through Sunday at the par-72, 6,285 yard Finley Golf Course

The 18-team field includes Arkansas, Auburn, Baylor, Central Florida, Colorado, Duke, Florida, Kentucky, LSU, Louisville, Michigan, Michigan State, Mississippi, North Carolina, NC State, South Carolina, Virginia and Wake Forest.

Virginia’s lineup features Brittany Altomare, Elizabeth Brightwell, Alex Hershberger, Portland Rosen and Nicole Agnello. It will be Agnello’s first tournament since being sidelined with a wrist injury last spring.

Altomare currently leads the team with a 72.89 stroke average. In her last outing she placed third at the Liz Murphey Fall Classic at the University of Georgia Golf Course, the site of the 2013 NCAA Championships. She is ranked No. 38 in the latest Golfstat standings.
