“Obviously Maryland is a very good team. I thought we challenged them and made them work hard for what they got, but clearly you can’t give Maryland, or a team that is that good at shooting, that many opportunities. I thought they had great open looks at the cage, but not because we weren’t working hard at trying to deny them, but because they were that good. They were hitting good lanes. Kim didn’t have a chance with many of those saves. I thought they were pretty point-blank. Their shooting percentage was 18 on 23 shots. That’s pretty phenomenal. I am proud of our fight and our effort. Obviously we needed to fight harder and do better.”
On the positive takeaways from the game
“The first half was close, so we have that. In the first half when Maryland scored, we tended to score right away. We never really let them build their lead much in the first half. Clearly it was a different story in the second half. We needed to win more draws to be able to compete and really hit our shots. I think once our defense started to true things up, our attack got a little too loose and turned the ball over a few too many times. We have a really good team. We have a lot of talent. We’ve got some speed. We’ve got some toughness. When our injured kids come back, I think we move some kids around again and see what we can’t put out there. I think we are getting better with every game despite the results of tonight’s game.”
On playing at home
“I think it’s great to be home. Klöckner Stadium is the nicest stadium we’ll ever play in. Obviously you want to win when you are at home, but I have a feeling Maryland is going to give a lot of home teams some fits this year. I don’t think we are going to be alone in that and already we are not alone in that.”

“I think it came down to the draw in the second half. We couldn’t come up with the draw and they really capitalized on that. This is something we really need to work on because that is how you win games.”
“I think the attack unit is really working well together. We complement each other well, which is really exciting. Defense needs to come up with some stops, and they play well together [so I think they will]. We just need to play well all over the field.”
