Statesboro, Ga. – The Virginia men’s moved up to 13th place at the Schenkel Invitational in Stateboro, Ga., following the second round of play. The Cavaliers shot 7-over 295 for a two-day total of 596. Alabama leads the field at 563.

Virginia was led in the second round by Denny McCarthy’s 3-under 69. He improved to 32nd overall at 4-over 148. Mac McLaughlin leads the team in 26th place at 147. He shot 73 during Saturday’s play.

UVa’s Nick Tremps is in 42nd place at 150 while Ji Soo Park is 55th at 151 and Alex Lloyd is 78th at 157. Tremps and Lloyd both shot 77 during the second round while Park carded a score of 76.

In stroke play, Justin Thomas of Alabama owns a three-shot advantage heading into the final round at 7-under 137.

The final round of the tournament is slated for Sunday.
