CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia women’s tennis team travels to North Carolina for three matches this weekend. The No. 27 Cavaliers battle No. 7 Duke in Durham on Friday, March 29 at 1 p.m. Virginia plays No. 1 North Carolina (1 p.m.) and North Carolina Central (5:30 p.m.) on Saturday, March 30 in Chapel Hill.

Virginia (8-6, 3-0 ACC) has won five consecutive matches, including a pair of 6-1 victories against No. 72 Boston College and No. 55 Virginia Tech last weekend in Charlottesville.

No. 65 Stephanie Nauta (Galveston, Texas), who was named ACC Player of the Week on March 19, leads Virginia with a 10-1 dual record. Senior Erin Vierra (Norwell, Mass.) is 8-4 and No. 15 Julia Elbaba (Oyster Bay, N.Y.) is 7-6, while senior Hana Tomljanovic (Boca Raton, Fla.) and junior Caryssa Peretz(Cherry Hill, N.J.) have added five wins each.

Nauta and Vierra and Elbaba and Tomljanovic are each 5-2 in doubles. Maria Fuccillo (Rockville, Md.) and Li Xi(Kunming, China) are 2-0 after a pair of victories against the Eagles and Hokies last weekend.

Duke’s (11-3, 2-0 ACC) lineup boasts five ranked singles players in No. 19 Hanna Mar, No. 52 Ester Goldfeld, No. 94 Marianne Jodoin, No. 99 Mary Clayton and No. 123 Monica Turewicz, though Turewicz is out with an injury. In doubles, Goldfeld is ranked No. 8 with Clayton, No. 28 with Mar and No. 57 with Annie Mulholland.

North Carolina’s (16-1, 2-0 ACC) lineup features four ranked players in No. 9 Gina Suarez-Malaguti, No. 25 Whitney Kay, No. 33 Caroline Price and No. 43 Zoe De Bruycker. In doubles, Kay is ranked No. 22 with Ashley Dai and No. 42 with Price.
