CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia junior guard Joe Harris (Chelan, Wash.) and junior forward Akil Mitchell (Charlotte, N.C.) were named to the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) 2013 University Division All-State Men’s Basketball Team. Harris was named to the first team, while Mitchell was named to the second team.

Harris, who earned All-Atlantic Coast Conference first-team honors, ranked fourth in the ACC in scoring at 16.3 points per game, including 18.4 ppg in ACC play (second in the league). Harris tallied nine 20-point games, including a career-high 36 points vs. Duke on Feb. 28.

Mitchell, who earned All-ACC third-team honors, averaged 13.1 points per game and ranked third in the league at 8.9 rebounds per game and fourth in field goal accuracy at 54.5 percent.

Harris was joined on the first team by VaSID Player of the Year Erick Green (Virginia Tech), Treveon Graham (VCU), Stan Okoye (VMI) and Pendarvis Williams (Norfolk State).

Devon Moore (James Madison), Juvonte Reddic (VCU), Marcus Thornton (William and Mary) and Sherrod Wright, Jr. joined Mitchell on the second team.
