The Cavaliers are coming off of a strong performance at the UVa Invitational on Lake Monticello, where the Varsity Eight won seven races against Wisconsin, Michigan State and Duke.

Six schools compete for the ACC rowing title with Boston College, Clemson, Duke, Miami and North Carolina joining UVa. This is the first year that the team champion will earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Championships, which will be held May 31-June 2 in Indianapolis, Ind.

Virginia has won 46 of the 52 races held at the previous 13 ACC Championships, which the conference started in 2000.
