ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Recent Virginia graduate Jarmere Jenkins (Class of 2013) won his first professional singles title, winning the Linda Bogdan Memorial Futures Tournament, a $10,000 event on the USTA Pro Circuit. He topped former teammate Michael Shabaz (Class of 2011) 5-7, 6-2, 6-2 in Sunday’s final.

It was the second straight week Jenkins has reached the final, having been the runner-up last week at the event in Amelia Island, Fla.

Also finding success this week on the Futures Tour was Teddy Angelinos (Class of 2008), who reached the singles final in Romania.

A pair of former Cavaliers, Treat Huey (Class of 2008) and Dominic Inglot (Class of 2009), have reached the round of 16 at Wimbledon. It is the second consecutive Grand Slam the pair has reached the third round. They will meet the top-ranked pair in the world, Bob and Mike Bryan, in the round of 16 on Monday. The match will air on ESPN3.
