Men's Tennis Opens Fall Season at Olympia Fields Invitational

CHARLOTTESVILLE – The Virginia men’s tennis team opens its fall schedule this weekend as it competes at the seventh annual Olympia Fields Invitational. The event, hosted by the University of Illinois, will be held on the clay courts of the historic Olympia Fields Country Club in suburban Chicago.

This year’s tournament features players from Illinois, Kentucky, Memphis, Notre Dame, Texas and Virginia.

The Cavaliers will send four players to the tournament to compete in singles and doubles. Senior Justin Shane (Falls Church, Va.), who is ranked No. 117 in the preseason ITA rankings, will be joined by sophomores Jonathan Cornish (London, England) and Alex Scheinman (Los Angeles, Calif.) and first-year Jordan Daigle (Lafayette, La.)

The tournament runs Friday-Sunday at the Olympia Fields Country Club.
