Complete Draws with Friday Times

CHARLOTTESVILLE – The reigning NCAA Champion Virginia men’s tennis team will host its first home tournament of the fall this weekend with the UVa Ranked+1 Invitational. The tournament will run Friday-Sunday at the Snyder Tennis Center, with play beginning at 9 a.m. each day.

The tournament, which has become one of the top tournaments in the nation each fall, features four singles draws and four doubles draws.

Virginia is one of 15 schools to have players competing at this year’s tournament. Binghamton, Elon, George Washington, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Louisville, Memphis, Michigan, NC State, North Carolina, UNC Wilmington, VCU, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest will all send competitors to the event.

This year’s tournament features 16 players ranked among the nation’s top 125 in the preseason ITA rankings, including three ranked Cavaliers: sophomore Ryan Shane (Falls Church, Va.) at No. 46, sophomore Harrison Richmond (Pawleys Island, S.C.) at No. 51 and senior Justin Shane (Falls Church, Va.) at No. 117. First-years JC Aragone (Yorba Linda, Calif.), Luca Corinteli (Alexandria, Va.) and Jordan Daigle (Lafayette, La.), along with sophomore Jonathan Cornish (London, England) are also scheduled to compete in singles, and sophomore Alex Scheinman (Los Angeles, Calif.) will compete in doubles.

Admission to the tournament is free.
