CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.—The Virginia rowing team concludes its fall season Sunday morning (Nov. 17) by hosting the annual Rivanna Romp on the Rivanna Reservoir in Earlysville, Va.

Admission is free to the public. Action begins at 9:30 a.m. with the Varsity Eights, followed by the Novice Eights and small boats at 10:30 a.m. Boats will go off one at a time, about 10-15 seconds apart, in a time trial to determine the winners.

The Cavaliers will be competing against crews from Louisville, Oklahoma, Old Dominion, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

Free parking is available at the Thomas Temple Allan Boathouse on the west bank of the Rivanna Reservoir. The boathouse is the closest point spectators can see the boats along the 4,000-meter course.

The Cavaliers look to continue a successful fall season, as the Varsity Eight won the Princeton Chase and was the top collegiate boat at the Head of the Charles for the third consecutive season.

Virginia’s spring season begins March 8 with a scrimmage against Michigan State at Claytor Lake Stake Park in Dublin, Va.
