POPAYAN, Colombia – Former Virginia men’s tennis player Ted Angelinos (Class of 2008) won his seventh career pro singles title last week, winning the Futures Tour event in Colombia. Angelinos was the top seed at the 15K event.

Angelinos, who is ranked No. 290 in the world this week, will likely move up to a near career high of No. 250-260 next week when the tournament is calculated into the rankings. That will put him in good position to make the qualifying field of the 2014 Australian Open, which would be his first Grand Slam qualifying appearance.

Angelinos is playing this week’s Colombia Futures as well.

Sanam Singh (Class of 2011) is up to a career-high No. 433 in doubles this week after he teamed with fellow alum Michael Shabaz (Class of 2011) to reach the semifinals of the Champaign Challenger.
