CHARLOTTESVILLE – The Virginia men’s and women’s tennis teams’ annual Meet the Team Night, originally scheduled for this evening, has been rescheduled due to inclement weather. The free event has been moved to Wednesday, Jan. 29 and will run from 6-8 p.m. at the Boar’s Head Sports Club. 



Boar’s Head opens its doors to all Virginia fans to participate in tennis drills and games. Fans can meet and interact with the student-athletes and coaches and show their support for the 2014 Cavaliers as the teams prepare for another exciting spring season. The event will feature something for all levels of tennis players and enthusiasts to enjoy.

Tonight’s dedication of the Boar’s Head tennis lobby for Cavalier great Hal Burrows has also been postponed to Jan. 29 at 5:30 p.m. To RSVP for the recognition, contact Jessica Armistead in the Virginia Athletics Foundation office at jsf2y@virginia.edu or 434-982-5555.

The top-ranked and reigning NCAA champion Virginia men’s team opens its home schedule with a pair of matches at the Boyd Tinsley Courts at Boar’s Head Sports Club against No. 64 Elon on Jan. 24 and either No. 56 Indiana or No. 63 Samford on Jan. 25 as part of ITA Kickoff Weekend. The Cavaliers also host Boston College and Navy on Jan. 26

The No. 13 Virginia women’s team hosts No. 39 VCU (Jan. 31) and No. 33 South Carolina (Feb. 2) at the Boyd Tinsley Courts at Boar’s Head Sports Club. The Cavaliers will also serve as host of the 2014 ITA Women’s National Team Indoor Championships on Feb. 7-10 at the Boar’s Head Sports Club.

Admission to all Virginia home men’s and women’s tennis matches is free.
