CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia women’s lacrosse team will host Navy in a preseason scrimmage on Saturday, Feb. 1 at 12 p.m. at Klöckner Stadium. The exhibition contest will be open to the public with free admission.

The Virginia women’s lacrosse season officially begins on Sunday, Feb. 9 when the Cavaliers take on Northwestern in a neutral-site game in Atlanta, Ga. UVa’s home schedule includes nine games and kicks off on Saturday, Feb. 15 with a 1 p.m. home game against Loyola. The regular-season runs through April 10 when the Cavaliers will host Boston College in the annual Senior Night game.

The Cavalier women, who advanced to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament in 2013, will have a veteran squad this season featuring nine seniors as well as returning the team’s leading scorer from last season, All-American attacker junior Casey Bocklet.

The Mids have won four-straight Patriot League titles, advancing to the second round of the 2013 NCAA Tournament and finishing with a program-best 19-2 record.

Single-game reserved seats are available for all women’s home games for $7. Single-game general admission adult tickets for women’s home games are $5, while youth (18 and under), seniors (60 and over), and UVa faculty and staff tickets are $4 each.
