CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.—The Virginia softball team hosts ACC newcomer Syracuse in a three-game series Saturday and Sunday (March 15-16) at The Park.

Admission to all Virginia softball games is free to the public. Live statistics will be available for all three games and be linked through VirginiaSports.com. The Morsel Compass food truck will provide concessions for Saturday’s games. Fans will be able to purchase international-inspired tacos, Pepsi products and more.

The Cavaliers (3-18, 1-7 ACC) dropped a pair of games at Georgia Tech on Wednesday (March 12). The Yellow Jackets won the first game, 10-2, before taking the second, 3-2. Freshman Madison Labshere (El Cajon, Calif.) hit a home run in each game and has four on the season to lead the team. Sophomore Heidi Velk (Murrieta, Calif.) recorded her first collegiate home run in the first game.

The Orange (7-13, 0-3 ACC) have picked up two consecutive wins, a 5-0 win over Elon and a 7-6 win against Campbell. Syracuse plays Appalachian State Friday afternoon before traveling to Charlottesville.

Nicole Lundstrom leads the Orange with a .373 batting average, four home runs and 13 RBI. Sydney O’Hara is 5-5 with a 3.63 ERA in 44.1 innings this season.

Up next, the Cavaliers host Maryland in a doubleheader on Wednesday (March 19) at 4 p.m. at The Park.
