Charlottesville, Va. – The Virginia women’s golf team heads to Nashville this weekend to participate in the Mason Rudolph Championship hosted by Vanderbilt at its Legends Course. This is UVa’s second tournament of the fall. The Cavaliers opened the season with a fourth-place finish at the Cougar Classic in Charleston, S.C. earlier in the week.

The Mason Rudolph Championship will take place Friday-Sunday on the par-72, 6,321-yard Vanderbilt Legends Club North Course. Tee times will start at 8 a.m. CT Friday and Saturday and at 7:30 a.m. CT Sunday.

This year’s field includes Alabama, Chattanooga, Clemson, Auburn, GRU-Augusta, Kentucky, Lamar, LSU, Michigan State, Mississippi State, Princeton, Tulane, Vanderbilt and Virginia. The host Commodores will play with two teams. The UVa lineup will feature Briana Mao (Folsom, Calif.), Lauren Diaz-Yi (Thousand Oaks, Calif.), Lauren Coughlin (Chesapeake, Va.), Elizabeth Szokol (Winnetka, Ill.), Alex Hershberger (Basking Ridge, N.J.). Maho Hayakawa (Lake Mary, Fla.) will compete as a non-scoring individual.

Last season Virginia finished 11th in a 15-team field at the Mason Rudolph Championship. Hershberger, playing as a non-scoring individual, posted UVa’s best finish with a score of 223 to place 32nd.
