Oct. 10, 2014 Johnson City, Tenn. – Play was suspended in the early afternoon during the first round of the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate due to course conditions. Heavy rains in the Johnson City, Tenn., area made the Blackthorn Club at the Ridges course unplayable.
Play will resume Saturday at 8:45 a.m. Players who did not complete their opening rounds will finish those holes and then begin their second rounds.
Only three teams managed to complete their first round on Friday. Coast Carolina led that group at 2-under 286.
When play was stopped, UVa senior Denny McCarthy (Rockville, Md.) had the Cavaliers best round, standing at even par through 12 holes.
