• Full 2015 Inside Lacrosse Face-Off Yearbook Preseason All-America team

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia defenseman Tanner Scales, attackman James Pannell and midfielder Ryan Tucker were named preseason All-Americans by Inside Lacrosse‘s Face-Off Yearbook. UVa also earned a preseason ranking of No. 10 by the publication.

The Face-Off Yearbook named Scales (Jr., Denver, Colo.) as a first-team honoree. Pannell (Jr., Smithtown, N.Y.) and Ryan Tucker (Sr., Towson, Md.) are third-team mention. Scales was also UVa’s lone member on the 12-member preseason All-ACC team voted on by the league’s head coaches for Face-Off Yearbook.

Scales was a third-team USILA All-American in 2014 and was No. 2 on the team with 22 caused turnovers. He also picked up 49 ground balls. Pannell, a USILA honorable mention All-American in 2014, finished the 2014 season No. 2 on the team with 39 goals and had 46 points. Tucker scored 24 goals in 2014 and was an All-ACC Academic team honoree.

All five ACC teams find themselves in the preseason Top-10. Notre Dame (2), Duke (3), Syracuse (4) and North Carolina (6) all are ranked high by the Face-Off Yearbook.
