CHARLOTTESVILLE – Past and present members of the Virginia men’s tennis team will open play in 2015 at various ATP, Challenger Tour and Futures Tour events around the world. The group includes seven current Cavaliers competing in a pair of USTA Futures Tour events.

At the Futures Tour event in Los Angeles, senior Mitchell Frank (Annandale, Va.) is in the main draw, which begins Monday, while sophomore J.C. Aragone (Yorba Linda, Calif.) and first-year Henrik Wiersholm (Kirkland, Wash.) will start play Saturday in the qualifying draw.

Four current Cavaliers, junior Mac Styslinger (Birmingham, Ala.), junior Ryan Shane (Falls Church, Va.) and sophomores Luca Corinteli (Alexandria, Va.) and Thai-Son Kwiatkowski (Charlotte, N.C.), are in the qualifying draw of the Futures Tour event in Plantation, Fla. Virginia alumni Michael Shabaz (Class of 2011) and Justin Shane (Class of 2014) are in the main draw of the event.

Virginia alumni will also be in action on the ATP Tour this week with Somdev Devvarman (Class of 2008) and Sanam Singh (Class of 2011) at the Chennai Open and Dominic Inglot (Class of 2009) at the Qatar Open. Jarmere Jenkins (Class of 2013) opens 2015 at a Challenger Tour event in New Caledonia.
