CHARLOTTESVILLE – Three current members of the Virginia men’s tennis team are in action this week during main draw play at a pair of USTA Futures Tour events. Sophomore Thai-Son Kwiatkowski (Charlotte, N.C.) has advanced to the second round of the event in Plantation, Fla., while sophomore J.C. Aragone (Yorba Linda, Calif.) and senior Mitchell Frank (Annandale, Va.) are in the event in Los Angeles.

In Florida, Kwiatkowski reached the second round with a straight set win over former Princeton All-American Matija Petotic in the first round. It was his fifth straight-set win, having won four matches in qualifying.

Frank lost his first round match Tuesday in Los Angeles, falling to fifth-seeded Alexander Ward. Aragone will open main draw play, after three qualifying wins, on Wednesday against third-seeded Jason Jung, a former Michigan standout.

Two Cavaliers lost in the final round of qualifying on Monday, with Luca Corinteli (Alexandria, Va.) reaching the final round in Florida and Henrik Wiersholm (Kirkland, Wash.) reaching the final round in California. Two other Cavaliers were also in action in Florida, as Mac Styslinger (Birmingham, Ala.) topped teammate Ryan Shane (Falls Church, Va.) in the first round over the weekend.
