CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – For the second time in three weeks, Virginia’s Blaise Butler (R-Jr., Belvidere, Ill.) has been named the ACC Wrestler of the Week, as announced Tuesday (Feb. 3) by the conference office. Butler also was honored on Jan. 20.

Ranked seventh nationally at 174 pounds, Butler scored a 3-2 win over 12th-ranked Zach Epperly of Virginia Tech Sunday in Blacksburg, Va. Butler recorded a first-period takedown and never trailed in the win in the opening bout of the dual. It marked Butler’s second victory over Epperly this season.

Butler improved his season record to 15-2, including a 5-2 mark against top-20 ranked foes. Both losses came to wrestlers currently ranked above him (No. 1 Robert Kokesh of Nebraska, No. 6 Tyler Wilps of Pitt).

Virginia travels to North Carolina Saturday for a 7 p.m. dual with the Tar Heels.
