CHARLOTTESVILLE – The Virginia men’s and women’s track & field teams will return to action this week with athletes competing at the Doc Hale Virginia Tech Elite Meet at the Rector Field House in Blacksburg. Most of the 24 Cavaliers competing at the meet will be in action Friday evening, with five athletes competing on Saturday afternoon.

Live results of the meet will be available on VirginiaSports.com.

Virginia will have 17 women competing in Blacksburg, including Jordan Lavender (Nashville, Tenn.), who broke her own 200m indoor school record last week at the John Thomas Terrier Invitational in Boston. The seven men competing include two athletes who have set school records this year. Jordan Young (Windsor, Ontario) returns to Blacksburg where he broke the school record in the weight throw at the Virginia Tech Invitational last month. Virginia will send athletes to a pair of meets next week. Some will be in action Feb. 13-14 at the Iowa State Classic in Ames, Iowa, while others will compete on those days at the Don Kirby Elite Meet in Albuquerque, N.M.
