CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – No. 7 Virginia hosts No. 59 Syracuse and No. 57 Boston College in ACC action on Saturday-Sunday, Feb. 21-22 at Boar’s Head Sports Club.
The Cavaliers battle the Orange on Feb. 21 and Eagles on Feb. 22. First serve for each match is set for 11 a.m. The start time for the Virginia-Syracuse match was moved from 12 p.m. to 11 a.m. due to inclement weather. There will be a special t-shirt toss between the doubles and singles matches during the Boston College match on Sunday.
Virginia (6-2) has posted ranked wins against Utah, South Carolina, Georgia, USC and TCU. The Cavaliers also posted a win against in-state rival VCU.
Julia Elbaba (Oyster Bay, N.Y.) is ranked No. 2 in singles, Stephanie Nauta (Galveston, Texas) is ranked No. 30, Danielle Collins (St. Petersburg, Fla.) is ranked No. 42 and Maci Epstein (Winter Park, Fla.) is ranked No. 102.
Virginia newcomers Cassie Mercer (Huntington, W.Va.) and Skylar Morton (Bethesda, Md.) are ranked No. 21 in doubles, while Elbaba and Nauta are ranked No. 49. In addition, Elbaba and Morton are ranked No. 52 in doubles.
The Cavaliers are 6-1 all-time against Syracuse, including a 6-1 road win last season. Virginia is 17-0 against Boston College, including a 6-1 decision last season in Chestnut Hill, Mass. Boston College’s Jessica Wacnik is ranked No. 60 in singles, while Lexi Borr is No. 106.
