CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The seeds and brackets for the 2015 ACC Championships were announced Wednesday following a vote of the league’s coaches. The event will be held Sunday (March 8) at Pitt’s Petersen Events Center.

The brackets and seedings are subject to change until 5:30 p.m. Saturday. The championships begin at 11 a.m., with gates to the Petersen Events Center opening at 10 a.m. Each match of the championships will be broadcast online via ESPN3.

Virginia’s George DiCamillo (R-So., Highland Heights, Ohio) is the top seed at 133 pounds. Ranked No. 14 nationally by InterMat, DiCamillo went 5-0 in ACC duals and looks to earn his second conference championship. DiCamillo earned the 2013 ACC title at 133 before redshirting the 2014 season.

DiCamillo is one of three ACC champions in the Cavaliers’ probable lineup for Sunday. Nick Sulzer (R-Sr., Cleveland, Ohio) is the reigning ACC 165-pound champion, while Blaise Butler (R-Jr., Belvidere, Ill.) won the 157-pound title last year. Both are No. 2 seeds this year – Sulzer at 165 and Butler at 174 pounds.

Zach Nye (R-Jr., Enola, Pa.) also is a No. 2 seed at 197 pounds. He was the conference runner-up last season.

The championships serve as the automatic qualifier to the NCAA Championships. The ACC has been allotted 29 automatic qualifiers; the breakdown by weight class: 125: 3, 133: 3, 141: 4, 149: 3, 157: 2, 165: 3, 174: 5, 184: 2, 197: 2, 285: 2. To earn the automatic qualifier, each wrestler must finish a certain place or higher at the conference championships to automatically qualify (e.g., place in top three at 125 pounds).

Tickets for the one day championship are on sale now. Admission to the Petersen Events Center is $10 for adults and $5 for both youth 12-and-under and senior citizens. All tickets are general admission and can be purchased online, calling 800-643-PITT (7488), or visiting the Panthers Ticket Office located in the lobby of the Petersen Events Center. Tickets will also be available at the door on the day of the event.
