Charlottesville, Va. – The No. 23 Virginia men’s golf team will wrap up its spring break week swing with an appearance at Florida State’s Seminole Intercollegiate. The three-day, 54-hole tournament will be held at Southwood Golf Course starting Friday.

The Hoos will field the same lineup as they did when finishing third earlier in the week at the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Invite in Aiken, S.C. Competing for UVa will be seniors Denny McCarthy (Rockville, Md.) and Ji Soo Park (Clifton, Va.), sophomores Derek Bard (New Hartford, N.Y.) and Kyle Kochevar (Glen Ellyn, Ill.) and freshman Danny Walker (Bradenton, Fla.). Playing as a non-scoring individual will be sophomore Jimmy Stanger (Tampa, Fla.)

Walker led the Cavaliers with a fourth-place finish at the Palmetto, his best showing as a collegiate. Bard currently leads the team with a 70.75 stroke average while McCarthy is right behind him at 70.76.

The tournament field includes South Florida, Louisville, Florida State, Georgia Tech, South Carolina, George Washington, Western Kentucky, Illinois State, Troy, Jacksonville, Cincinnati, Florida, East Tennessee State, Penn State, James Madison and Mercer.

Florida State is currently ranked No. 2 in the latest Golfstat poll. Georgia Tech is No. 7, South Carolina No. 8 and USF No. 9.

Virginia will be paired with Louisville and South Florida and will tee off starting at 8:30 a.m. from the No. 1 tee. Live scoring is online at Golfstat.com.

The 16-team field features four top-10 teams and seven teams ranked in the top 40.
