CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.–The Virginia softball team travels to Harrisonburg, Va., Wednesday (March 18) to take on James Madison in a doubleheader set for 5 p.m.

The Cavaliers (5-21) dropped a three-game series at Louisville last weekend. Senior Megan Harris (Knoxville, Tenn.) leads the team with a .364 batting average, while sophomore Kaitlin Fitzgerald (Placentia, Calif.) is hitting .354 with a team-leading 22 RBI. Freshmen Allison Davis (Oak Hill, Va.) and Danni Ingraham (Laguna Niguel, Calif.) are pacing the squad with five home runs each.

The Dukes (17-6) swept five games at the UCF Spring Fling last weekend in Orlando, Fla., and has won eight games in a row. Erica Field leads JMU with a .430 batting average, while Megan Good is 9-0 with a 1.18 ERA.

Virginia leads the all-time series with JMU, 23-15, but the Dukes swept a doubleheader last year in Charlottesville.

Next up, the Cavaliers host Delaware State and Marist in a round-robin tournament at The Park March 20-22. Admission is free of charge.
