Barrett Headlines UVa's Four USILA All-America Honorees

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — Earning second-team honors, Virginia’s sophomore goalie Matt Barrett headlines four UVa men’s lacrosse players who were named to the 2015 USILA All-America team, as announced by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association.

Greg Coholan, Davi Sacco and Ryan Tucker also earned USILA All-America honors. Tucker was named to the third team, while Coholan and Sacco earned honorable mention accolades. These are the first career All-America honors for each Cavalier.

Barrett (Glenmoore, Pa.) finished the season No. 1 in the ACC and No. 8 nationally with 12.20 saves per game. His 183 saves rank No. 6 all-time in the UVa annals for a season. Barrett’s second-team honor is the best for a Cavalier goalie since Tillman Johnson was a first-team recipient in 2003. Barrett was also UVa’s lone All-ACC representative in 2015.

Tucker (Towson, Md.) started all 15 games on the first midfield and finished with 25 goals and 11 assists. The captain’s 77 career goals places Tucker at No. 8 all-time among Cavalier midfielders. Earlier this week Tucker was named a USILA Scholar All-American.

Coholan (Rochester, N.Y.) led UVa with 39 goals and 53 points, splitting time between attack and UVa’s first midfield. His 2.6 goals per game ranked No. 5 in the ACC. Coholan was one of UVa’s five captains.

Sacco (Fayetteville, N.Y.) started all 15 games at close defense and led UVa with 23 caused turnovers. A former walk-on, Sacco was named a captain in the middle of the season. He also picked up 27 ground balls. Earlier this week Sacco was named a USILA Scholar All-American.
