Charlottesville, Va. – Virginia men’s golfers Denny McCarthy (Rockville, Md.) and Derek Bard (New Hartford, N.Y.) have received post-season honors following the Cavaliers’ successful 2015 campaign.

McCarthy was named an honorable mention All-American by Golfweek and he joined Bard on the PING All-Region team. Both players were named to the All-ACC team this year. McCarthy became the first Cavalier to earn All-ACC honors four years in a row. He led UVa at the ACC, NCAA Regional and NCAA Championships and finished the season with a team-best 70.94 stroke average. He was ranked No. 31 in Golfweek’s final standings.

Bard was second on the team with a 71.45 stroke average. He won the U.S. Collegiate and was UVa’s top finisher in three other tournaments, posting five top-10 finishes this year. He was ranked No. 65th in Golfweek’s final standings.

The Virginia men’s golf team finished 18th at the NCAA Championships.
