CHARLOTTESVILLE – Three members of the Virginia men’s track and field program were named to the All-ACC Academic Outdoor Track & Field Team, the conference announced Tuesday. Freshman Jack Lint (Westerville, Ohio), sophomore Filip Mihaljevic (Livno, Bosnia and Herzegovina) and senior Ryan Satchell (Central Islip, N.Y.) were recognized for their academic and athletic success.

The three Cavaliers helped lead Virginia to a second-place finish at the 2015 ACC Outdoor Track and Field Championships and a school-record 17th-place finish at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

Satchell became a three-time All-ACC Academic Team honoree with his selection. He finished fourth in the triple jump and ninth in the long jump at the ACC Championships. He concluded his collegiate career with a 23rd-place finish in the triple jump at the NCAA Championships.

Mihaljevic was named to the All-ACC Academic Team for the second consecutive year. The ACC Champion in the shot put and discus, he set the school record in both events during the 2015 season. He capped the year with a third-place finish in the discus at the NCAA Championships.

Lint was honored after a freshman season that saw him finish third in the decathlon at the ACC Championships. His score of 7,179 points is a UVa freshman record and the fourth-best score in school history. To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during his or her academic career.
