CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.-Virginia volleyball head coach Dennis Hohenshelt announced Friday (July 17) that Krystal Ejesieme has transferred to UVa and will join the Cavaliers this fall.

Ejesieme (Garland, Texas), a 5-10 outside hitter, played one season for UTEP and will have three years of eligibility remaining.

“We are pleased Krystal has decided to become a Cavalier,” Hohenshelt said. “She had a very productive year at UTEP last year as a freshman and that experience will carry over into our gym. She is an athletic player that can play multiple positions and will add depth to our roster.”

Ejesieme played in 29 matches for the Miners in 2014 and led the squad in blocks (94). She recorded double-digit kills in six matches and added 15 service aces. She was named to the 2014-15 Conference USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll and earned a C-USA Commissioner’s Academic Medal for her efforts in the classroom.

The addition of Ejesieme brings the program’s incoming tally to five, as she joins Coral Kazaroff (Apex, N.C.), Harley Sebastian (Atlanta, Ga.), Anna Walsh (Grapevine, Texas) and Kat Young (Chantilly, Va.), in the incoming class.
