CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced the ITA Division I Women’s Preseason Rankings, along with the selections for the 2015 Riviera/ITA Women’s All-American Championships on Tuesday.

For the first time in program history, the Cavaliers have three players ranked in the preseason top 30. Senior Julia Elbaba (Oyster Bay, N.Y.) enters the season ranked third, senior Danielle Collins (St. Petersburg, Fla.) is ranked eighth and senior Stephanie Nauta (Galveston, Texas) is ranked 28th. The rankings are the highest preseason positions for all three players in their careers.

Elbaba and senior Skylar Morton (Bethesda, Md.) are ranked 13th in doubles in the preseason rankings, while Nauta and sophomore Cassie Mercer (Huntington, W.V.) are ranked 49th in doubles.

Collins and Elbaba have also been tabbed to participate in the 2015 Riviera/ITA Women’s All-American Championships. The main draw of the event consists of 23 players. Elbaba will also pair with Morton in the main draw for doubles. Nauta will compete in the qualifying draw of the event, while Morton will compete in the pre-qualifying draw. Nauta and Mercer will pair up to compete in the pre-qualifying doubles draw.

The Riviera/ITA Women’s All-American Championships beings on Saturday, Oct. 3 at the Riviera Tennis Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif.
