CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia rowing team will compete in three fall regattas, head coach Kevin Sauer announced on Friday (Sept. 18).

The six-time defending Atlantic Coast Conference champions will compete in the 51st Head of the Charles on Sunday, Oct. 18 in Boston, where the Varsity Eight has finished as the top collegiate crew in each of the past four years.

Virginia will participate in the Princeton Chase on Sunday, Nov. 1 in Princeton, N.J., where the Varsity Eight placed second in 2014.

The Cavaliers will conclude the fall season with their annual Rivanna Romp on Sunday, Nov. 15 at the Rivanna Reservoir in Earlysville, Va. In addition to UVa, the Romp will feature crews from Columbia, Duke, Louisville, Navy and Penn. The Cavaliers’ Varsity Eight and Varsity Four have each tallied back-to-back victories in 2013 and 2014. Admission is free to the public.

In 2014, UVa’s Varsity Four won the NCAA title as the Cavaliers finished fifth overall at the championships. The Cavaliers swept all five races at the ACC regatta to earn its 15th conference title.
