CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.-The Virginia men’s and women’s cross country teams host the annual Virginia/Panorama Farms Invitational Saturday (Sept. 24) at Panorama Farms in Earlysville, Va.

The action begins at 10 a.m. with the men’s Division I 8K, followed by the DI women’s 5K at 10:45 a.m. A non-Division I men’s 8K will be contested at 11:15 a.m., followed by a non-DI women’s 5K at 11:45 a.m. Admission to the meet is free. The Hound Dog Hill Bluegrass Band will be performing throughout the meet, and Cavman and the Cavalier Spirit Squad will be in attendance tossing t-shirts to fans in attendance.

The No. 9 Cavalier men are one of three nationally-ranked programs competing Saturday, along with No. 18 Furman and No. 20 Eastern Kentucky. The Cavaliers (No. 1) are one of six regionally-ranked squads from the Southeast Region, including Furman (No. 2), Eastern Kentucky (No. 3), High Point (No. 9), Wake Forest (No. 10) and Liberty (No. 15). Other regionally-ranked programs running are Auburn (No. 8 South), Butler (No. 11 Great Lakes), Oklahoma (No. 6 Midwest) and Yale (No. 11).

On the women’s side, the No. 16 Cavaliers are the only nationally-ranked squad, but will be competing against eight sides ranked in their respective regions. UVa (No. 3) are one of five ranked Southeast region teams, including Eastern Kentucky (No. 5), Furman (No. 6), Wake Forest (No. 9) and Coastal Carolina (No. 11). Other regionally-ranked squads are Auburn (No. 7 South), Eastern Michigan (No. 7 Great Lakes), Oklahoma (No. 7 Midwest) and Yale (No. 11 Northeast).

Both Virginia squads captured team titles in this meet in 2014.

The meet is the last regular season home meet for the Cavaliers. UVa will host the NCAA Southeast Regional Championships Nov. 13 at Panorama Farms. Virginia returns to action Oct. 16 when both teams will compete in the Wisconsin adidas Invitational in Madison, Wis.
