ITA Atlantic Region – Main Draw

LYNCHBURG, Va. – The victories continued for the Virginia women’s tennis team on Monday (Oct. 19) as the Cavaliers claimed both the singles draw and the doubles draw at the ITA Atlantic Regional hosted by Liberty University.

Top seed Julia Elbaba (Oyster Bay, N.Y.) won the singles draw with a victory over Caroline Daxhelet of Virginia Tech by a score of 6-1, 6-1. In an all Cavalier final, the second-seeded pairing of Danielle Collins (St. Petersburg, Fla.) and Meghan Kelley (Falmouth, Me.) defeated the top-seeded pairing of Elbaba and Skylar Morton (Bethesda, Md.) to win the doubles draw by a score 6-3, 6-1.

With the victories in the Atlantic Regional, Elbaba will advance to the ITA National Indoors Championship to compete in singles, while the pairing of Collins and Kelley will advance to compete in doubles.

Collins will also compete in singles in the prestigious event after earning an automatic berth when she won the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships earlier this month.
