Charlottesville, Va. – The 14th-ranked Virginia women’s golf team completes the fall portion of its schedule this weekend at the 14th annual Landfall Tradition held Friday through Sunday, Oct. 23-25, at the Country Club of Landfall in Wilmington, N.C.

A total of 18 teams and six individuals will compete on the par-72, 6,157-yard layout that borders the Intracoastal Waterway near Wrightsville Beach.

In addition to host UNCW and the Cavaliers, the field includes (Golfstat ranking): Alabama (8), Clemson (27), Duke (2), Elon, Kentucky, Michigan State (33), North Carolina (38), NC State (30), Notre Dame, Ohio State (31), Oklahoma State (12), Penn State, Purdue (20), South Carolina (41), UCF and Wake Forest (43).

Virginia’s lineup for this year’s tournament features senior Lauren Coughlin (Chesapeake, Va.), senior Elizabeth Szokol (Winnetka, Ill.), sophomore Lyberty Anderson (Chesterfield, Va.), freshman Morgan Gonzales (Chandler, Ariz.) and freshman Katharine Patrick (Houston).

Coughlin is ranked No. 38 in the latest Golfweek and Golfstat standings and leads the Cavaliers with a 72.33 stroke average.

Last year UVA finished fifth at the event behind Szokol’s fourth-place effort. She shot 3-under 213. The Cavaliers won the title in 2006, claiming a tiebreaker victory after both UVa and Michigan State finished play at 902.

Tee times are set to start at 8:30 a.m. on Friday and Saturday from the No. 1 and No. 10 tees. Sunday’s play will begin with a shotgun start at 8:45 a.m.
