Hoos Open Play at Landfall Tradition in 10th Place

Wilmington, N.C. – The 14th-ranked Virginia women’s golf team is tied for 10th place after Friday’s opening round of competition at The Landfall Tradition tournament taking place in Wilmington, N.C. The Cavaliers shot 13-over 301 and are tied with South Carolina. Duke leads the 18-team field at 1-under 287.
Senior Lauren Coughlin (Chesapeake, Va.) led the Hoos by shooting 1-under 71 to stand in eighth place. Senior Elizabeth Szokol (Winnetka, Ill.) is in 36th place at 75 while freshman Morgan Gonzales posted a round of 76 to finish the day in 45th place. Freshman Katharine Patrick is 70th at 79 and sophomore Lyberty Anderson (Chesterfield, Va.) is 87th at 81.
Notre Dame’s Isabella DiLisio leads the field after shooting 5-under 67.
The second round of the tournament is scheduled for Saturday and the final round takes place Sunday.
