Coughlin Shoots 67 During Final Round at Landfall Tradition

Wilmington, N.C. – Behind the play of senior Lauren Coughlin (Chesapeake, Va.), the 14th-ranked Virginia women’s golf team finished 12th at the Landfall Tradition in Wilmington, N.C. The Cavaliers shot 26-over 890 during the course of the 54-hole event. UVA’s final round score of 2-under 286 was its best 18-hole total during the tournament.

Duke took the team title, firing 9-under 855 to top second-place Notre Dame by 11 shots. The tournament was UVA’s final event on its fall calendar.

Coughlin posted a final round score of 5-under 67 to place eighth overall at 2-under 214. It was her second top-10 finish this season and the sixth during her career.

Senior Elizabeth Szokol (Winnetka, Ill.) finished play in 24th position at 4-over 220 after shooting 2-under 70 during the final round. Sophomore Lyberty Anderson (Chesterfield, Va.) finished in 59th place at 229 while freshman Morgan Gonzales was 65th at 231. Freshman Katharine Patrick was 77th at 235.

Michigan State’s Sarah Burnham used a final round 66 to claim medalist honors at 5-under 211.
