CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.-The Virginia men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams travel to Ann Arbor, Mich., this weekend to take on Michigan and Penn State Oct. 31-Nov. 1 at Canham Natatorium.

Action on Saturday begins at 3 p.m. and is scheduled to continue at 11 a.m. on Sunday. A link to live results can be located at VirginiaSports.com.

The Cavalier women (1-0) are ranked No. 4 in the first CSCAA national poll of the season, while Penn State (4-0) is ranked No. 20 and Michigan (2-0) is tabbed No. 23. The first men’s CSCAA poll of the season will be announced next week.

In their first meet, the UVA women defeated Tennessee, 174-121, while the Cavalier men (0-1) fell to the Volunteers, 210-90.

The Cavaliers have several marks that rank in the top 10 in the nation in events that are contested at the NCAA Championships. Senior Courtney Bartholomew (Holland, Mich.) is currently ranked No. 1 in the nation in the 100 back and second in the 200 back, while sophomore Jennifer Marrkand (Westford, Mass.) is fourth in the 200 fly. Junior Laura Simon (Simmern, Germany) is No. 5 in the 200 breast and No. 6 in the 100 breast.

On the men’s side, senior Yannick Kaeser (Mumpf, Switzerland) is currently No. 9 in both the 100 breast and 200 breast.

The Michigan men (2-0) and women both defeated Purdue and Michigan State in their season opener, an outdoor, long-course meet on Oct. 2. Penn State’s women have defeated two ACC opponents in their first four meets, taking down Georgia Tech, 173-119, and Virginia Tech, 183-114. The Nittany Lion men are 1-2 on the season, scoring a victory over Emory, 184-107, on Oct. 3.

Up next, the Cavaliers will compete at the Georgia Fall Invitational Dec. 4-6 in Athens, Ga.
