FLUSHING, N.Y. – Julia Elbaba (Oyster Bay, N.Y.) advanced to the quarterfinals of the ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships on Friday (Nov. 13) before falling in singles play at the USTA Billie Jean King Tennis Center.

Elbaba defeated her first foe of the afternoon, Breaunna Addison of Texas, in straight sets before falling to Ohio State’s Francesca Di Lorenzo in a three-set match. Danielle Collins (St. Petersburg, Fla.) teamed up with Meghan Kelley (Falmouth, Me.) but fell in the quarterfinals of doubles competition. Both were playing through the main draw of competition.

In consolation play, Collins continued to advance, picking up a straight-set win over Florida’s Kourtney Keegan. Collins will continue to play in the consolation round, facing UCLA’s Catherine Harrison on Saturday (Nov. 14).

In consolation doubles, the pairing of Elbaba and Skylar Morton (Bethesda, Md.) fell to the team of Kowhase and Sanford from Ohio State.
