CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va – The fourth-ranked Virginia rowing team travels to Columbus, Ohio, to race against No. 3 Ohio State, No. 7 Michigan and Michigan State Saturday (April 2) on the Scioto River at Griggs Reservoir. Clemson will also be attendance for races.
Due to strong winds in the afternoon forecast, racing will begin at approximately 7:15 a.m. ET with the Varsity Eight and be run in reverse. Virginia will race Michigan and Michigan State in the first session and the host Buckeyes in the second session, which begins at 9:30 a.m.
Boats travel north to south on the Scioto. The finish line, where most spectators gather to watch the event, is located off of Riverside Dr., just north of Fishinger Road. Parking is available for fans.
UVA took five of six races from Yale in a regatta on March 19. UVA won 17 of 18 races at the Oak Ridge Cardinal Invitational and the Varsity Eight captured ACC Crew of the Week honors on March 15.
