University of Virginia alum Dick Williams is in his first year as GM of the Cincinnati Reds, and today marks Opening Day for the MLB team as they open against the Philadelphia Phillies. Williams talked last week about his experience at UVA in this piece on the blog mlbtraderumors.com.


Members of #UVAWBB and some of the team managers participated in Sunday’s inaugural ‘Out of the Darkness’ walk, an event organized by University students to bring awareness to suicide prevention. The walk, which organizers hope will become an annual event, also kicked off UVA’s “Stop the Stigma” week, which is filled with activities such as survivor support workshops, painting the Beta bridge and a resource fair.

Former #UVAMBB star and current Dallas Maverick Justin Anderson paid respect to his alma mater with a simple tweet on Friday honoring the program’s five pillars of success. The internet later paid respect to @jusanderson1 by going insane about his block and , more specifically his #hangtime in Sunday’s win over the Timberwolves that was initially shared in a tweet and vine by the @dallasmavs.
