Full VaSID Academic All-State Team NEWPORT NEWS, Va.-The 2015-16 Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) Academic All-State team was announced on Tuesday and 234 student-athletes from 41 colleges and universities across the state were recognized. To be eligible a student-athlete had to have at least a 3.25 GPA and be a sophomore or higher.

University of Virginia student-athletes named to the team were Cleo Boyd (Kingston, Ontario, women’s track and field/cross country), Carl Buergler (Arlington, Va., men’s swimming and diving), Makenzy Doniak (Chino Hills, Calif., women’s soccer), Haley Durmer (Decatur, Ga., women’s swimming and diving), Thai-Son Kwiatkowski (Charlotte, N.C., men’s tennis) and Christian Lavorgna (Jefferson, N.J., men’s track and field).

VaSID is comprised of sports information or athletics communications professionals from intercollegiate institutions throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia. Membership is open to any individual affiliated with one of the state’s institutions at the NCAA Division I, Division II, Division III, NAIA, USCAA, NJCAA, community college and independent levels, provided that individual’s area of responsibility lies within the realm of sports information.
