#UVAMLAX sophomore midfielder Ryan Conrad helped lead the US U19 National Team back from a 6-0 deficit against Canada on Saturday to win 13-12 and garner the Americans their eight-consecutive gold medal at the Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) Under-19 Men’s Lacrosse World Championships presented by Novus. Conrad scored with eight seconds remaining coming off a screen and burying the ball, capping off an unbelievable comeback for the Americans who trailed 8-2 at the half

On Monday, a pair of Cavaliers qualified for the 2016 U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship through a sectional qualifying event in Lexington, N.C. Sophomore Anna Redding and Morgan Gonzales made the cut at Sapona Ridge Country Club. They join junior Maho Hayakawa and sophomore Lyndsey Hunnell who qualified in June at Bethesda, Md. The 2016 U.S. Women’s Amateur takes place Aug. 1-7 at Rolling Green Golf Club in Springfield, Pa.
