RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil–The United States field hockey team and former Cavalier Michelle Vittese improved to 3-0 in Pool B play with a 6-1 win over Japan Wednesday (Aug. 10) at the Rio Olympics.

The Americans scored 22 seconds into the match on a penalty corner and Vittese (’13) set up Kathleen Bam for the second goal less than five minutes later. For the match, Vittese recorded four shots on goal.

The U.S. is back in action Thursday (Aug. 11) against India at 6:30 p.m. ET.
