RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil–The U.S. field hockey team and former Cavalier standout Michelle Vittese improved to 4-0 in pool play with a 3-0 victory over India Thursday evening (Aug. 11) at the Rio Olympics.

With the 3-0 shutout, Vittese (Class of 2013) and the Americans are now 4-0 in Pool B with one match remaining against Great Britain on Saturday (Aug. 13).

Vittese had two shots for the U.S. in the win. The Americans were led by a brace recorded by Kathleen Bam (goals in the 14th and 42nd minutes) and Melissa Gonzalez, who concluded the scoring in the 52nd minute.
