CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia volleyball team (3-3) travels to Lexington, Ky., to compete in the Kentucky Bluegrass Battle on Friday and Saturday at Memorial Coliseum.

The Cavaliers will begin play on Friday against Saint Louis at 5 p.m. ET. On Saturday, UVA will face tournament-host Kentucky at 11 a.m. and Marquette at 5 p.m. The Kentucky match will be streamed live on SEC Network+/WatchESPN and live stats will be available through VirginiaSports.com.

Virginia is coming off the LSU Tiger Classic where it finished 1-2. The Cavaliers defeated tournament-host LSU, 3-2, but fell in straight-sets to Southern Miss and UConn.

UVA is averaging 2.48 blocks per set and has finished with double-digit blocks in three matches this season. The Cavaliers had a season-high 12 blocks in the win over LSU. Senior Haley Kole (Tallahassee, Fla.) leads the team with 63 kills, averaging 3.00 kills per set. Freshman Kiley Banker (West Lafayette, Ind.) leads the team at the net, averaging 1.15 blocks per set.

Saint Louis (1-6) recently finished 0-3 at its home tournament, falling to Arkansas State, 3-1, No. 19 Western Kentucky, 3-0, and Cal Poly, 3-1. Danielle Rygelski leads the Billikens with 5.40 kills per set, which ranks third in the NCAA. UVA and Saint Louis met for the first time last season. The Billikens won in a close five-set match.

Kentucky (3-3) finished 1-2 last weekend at USC’s tournament. The WIldcats defeated Creighton, 3-0, but fell to USC and Northern Iowa, 3-0. Leah Edmond leads the team with 3.60 kills per set and Olivia Dailey is averaging 10.70 assists per set to guide the offense. Ashley Dusek leads the back line with 4.35 digs per set. Virginia is 2-0 all-time against Kentucky. The most recent meeting came on Sept. 23, 2003, when the Cavaliers won 3-1.

Marquette (4-2) won two of its three matches last weekend. The Golden Eagles picked up wins over IUPUI, 3-0, and Cincinnati, 3-1, while falling to Wichita State, 3-0. Taylor Louis paces the offense with 3.48 kills per set. Defensively, Jenna Rosenthal averages 0.96 blocks per set and Lauren Houg is recording 4.91 digs per set. The Cavaliers won the only meeting between the two teams, 3-0, on Sept. 9, 2006.

Virginia will close out the non-conference slate at the Baylor Classic Sept. 16-17 in Waco, Texas. The Cavaliers will play Baylor, Washington State and College of Charleston.
